Twisted Oak Barbecue wasn’t built overnight — and it sure wasn’t built in a boardroom.

It started the way real barbecue usually does: around family, fire, and time. Long days tending coals. Watching smoke. Learning patience. Understanding that good barbecue isn’t rushed — it’s earned.

I grew up around Southern cooking and wood-fired traditions where flavor came from fire, not from a bottle. What began as backyard cooks and family gatherings slowly turned into something bigger. The more I cooked, the more I studied the craft — fire management, smoke control, seasoning balance, meat selection — the details that separate average barbecue from something memorable.

Twisted Oak Barbecue was built on that foundation.

The Craft

We cook low and slow over real hardwood. No gas shortcuts. No “set it and forget it.” Just real fire and attention.

Every brisket, rack of ribs, and pork shoulder is handled with intention. Our rubs are balanced. Our sides are scratch-made. Our food reflects patience and respect for the process.

Barbecue isn’t just food — it’s timing, discipline, and knowing when to let the smoke do the work.

From Backyard to Catering

What started as backyard cooks turned into requests. Then events. Then weddings. Then corporate gatherings.

So we built Twisted Oak into more than just a food trailer. We built it into a catering operation focused on:
